Honorary Secretary

 

Purpose

To provide an efficient administration service to the club, ensuring the club functions smoothly and efficiently and be the main communication link between internal and external stakeholders, including the committee, sub-committees, club members and other clubs/leagues.

Key aspects of the role.

  1. Manage and maintain record keeping Manage all inward and outward club correspondence; manage all legal and insurance matters, in conjunction with other relevant members.
  1. Lead meeting organisation Organise the AGM, and club meetings, preparing agendas and paperwork, taking minutes and ensuring the distribution of the right paperwork to relevant individuals at the club.
  1. Maintain communication between other bodies. Communicate important matters between the club and the RFU and leagues. Demonstrate a knowledge of the rules of each respective body and provide all details as necessary to the RFU and SRFU.

 

Key skills

Requires a strong communicator with IT and delegation skills, experienced in administration and general meeting procedures.

Role Description

Youth Chairman

Purpose

Lead effective and efficient delivery of Youth rugby at the club.

Key aspects of the role.

  1. Lead the development of Youth rugby

Create and lead a team of people to delivery rugby for U6 to U17s; arrange and chair Youth rugby committee meetings and ensure that the Youth members are represented in the main committee.

  1. Organise suitable playing and training opportunities

Work alongside other club officials to coordinate the running and playing of games, training and tournaments in line with the Age Grade Regulations.

  1. Ensure all members are familiar with the core values of the game.

Make sure players, coaches, volunteers and parents are familiar with the core values of the game.

Key skills

Requires a strong communicator, with IT and delegation skills, experienced in administration. This role requires a friendly and diplomatic manner. This could be a shared role with a Deputy.

Role Description

Social Secretary

Purpose

To ensure that all events motivate people to attend and/or reward volunteers. Includes a range of events to encourage all members from Youth to Senior. Key aspects of the role.

 

  1. Lead the organisation of all events Plan, organise and lead a team to deliver major events, eg. Dinner Dance, Volunteer evenings, Quiz Nights etc.

 

  1. Work with other officers to set targets Consult with other exec members to ensure all the club is covered to encourage all to participate.

 

  1. Maintain a Calendar. Work alongside the Bar Team to ensure that dates are booked and logged into the Club Calendar to avoid double bookings.
