Good morning all
Once again we were fortunate to have a great day for rugby last Sunday – great pitch conditions and the sun was shining!
Firstly, can I thank all those parents who were able to walk/park away from the club last Sunday. It made a massive difference as Poveys Close didn’t look like a huge car park and our visitors were able to get to us with a degree of ease.
On the pitch, our U14s enjoyed a really close league game with Edenbridge, narrowly losing out by just 3 points. The match report can be found on our FB page and on the website.
This was followed by a less even game as the Horsham U15 girls team (including a number of Burgess Hill girls) proved far too strong for their Hove counterparts and came away with a very comfortable victory.
For the rest of the teams, it was training in preparation for the last couple of festivals of the season. I was very impressed with the quality of rugby played in the U10/U11 scrimmage game as I was with the 6 v 6 game in the U12s. It was good to see a good turnout with U7s at the club – they have improved massively since I last saw them earlier in the season – great job coaches!!
This Sunday, U7s to U11s are away at Lewes – hopefully the fine weather continues and you enjoy a good day. I look forward to seeing the photos. The U13/U15 girls are away at Pulborough so good luck to you too.
At home, our U6s are training and it is another round of league fixtures withthe U12s hosting Shoreham and our U14s hosting Horsham. With it being the start of the school Easter holidays, numbers are a little depleted but best of luck to you all.
Our own Black Widows are at home this Sunday afternoon too, so do stay on and cheer them on if you can.
REMINDER OF DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Sussex Cup Final for our Men’s 1st team – Sat 14th April at Uckfield with our U8s playing beforehand as a warm up match. More details on website but if you can get along to support it will be very welcome.
Minis and juniors end of season awards day will be on Sunday 5th May from 10. There will be some fun games with own/mixed age groups, BBQ, bouncy castle, and the usual raffle, tombola and barrow of booze. Please start to gather donations for these as good prizes makes it easier to sell tickets!
Your age groups have all been asked to provide a few helpers in setting up, running stalls, selling tickets, helping in the kitchen and tidying up. If everyone can give at least an hour then the work gets spread around and all get to enjoy some free time too.
