Good morning all,

It was great to see very busy pitches at the Club yesterday as our U10s hosted Brighton and Hove for joint training and matches; our U12s and U14s putting in some stellar work; and our largest number yet of girls training. Two of those went off after training, with their coach Louise Blunt, to join Horsham for their league fixture against Pulborough which they won 7 tries to 6.

I hear that the joint training for our other age groups down at Brighton, also with Hove, went very well too and training for our non contact teams on the 3G at BHA continues to go well.

The fixture list for this half of the season is now available – there may be some final tweaks, but this is now looking firmed up for virtually all dates. I would have attached to this email, but am concerned this will increase the chance of the email being treated as spam. Your coaches have a copy and I will ask Barry to put on the website and I will add to our minis and juniors facebook page. At the bottom of the fixtures, there is also a kitchen rota to end of 1st week in March. PLEASE ensure you coordinate with your respective age group parents and ensure we have cover provided where indicated to help with teas/coffees, taking orders and washing up. Without your help, we cannot open the kitchen. This coming Sunday, we are looking for parents of U9s to manage the 10-11:15 slot and the U11 parents to manage the 11:15-12:30 slot.

For those parents who are keen to get more involved in the Club in any capacity, but in particular helping out the coaches on and off the pitch, there are some Rugby Ready courses coming up with availability in Crawley (21st Jan from 7-10pm) and in Lewes on 13th March (7-10pm). These are a great introduction to the basics of the game and how you can help out as you work alongside our coaches. As our number of players in each age groups continue to grow, it is essential we get more pitch support for our coaches to help manage the number of players we have. Please do speak to your respective coaches and see how you can get more involved.

Good luck this Sunday to the U14 development team as they head to Uckfield and at time of writing to our U10s who are due to go to Seaford.
