What a wonderful day for rugby we had on Sunday – great pitch conditions and brilliant weather. It was so good to see the club and the pitches fully occupied. Our U14s had a convincing Storm League victory over Uckfield (report on FB and website). Our U13 girls were over in Lewes with Horsham and continue to produce some great and ever improving rugby. Our U12s hosted Horsham and played four quarters of tough but great rugby. Again with just one sub as opposed to a number of rolling subs for Horsham, it was hard going but our boys displayed great attitude and team work which bodes well for their forthcoming series of league fixtures.

All other teams worked hard at training and I am sure it was the same over at BHA with our younger age groups.

Many thanks to Tam and all the team who helped in the kitchen at the weekend – with two visiting teams and many teams at home, it was busy but a great opportunity to boost our income.

Turning to THIS SUNDAY. Don’t forget it is Mother’s Day and also that the clocks go forward an hour.

We have all teams at home this Sunday. Our U14s have a league match kicking off at 10:30 and our combined Burgess Hill/ Horsham U15 girls have a match v Guildford kicking off at 12.

Please note that all age groups without matches, will be finishing training no later than 11:30 this Sunday so that the girls and their visitors can have full use of pitch 2.

As was the case last weekend, can I please ask all of those who can walk to the club to do so; to car share if you need to drive; and/or park in the nearby industrial estate or down behind the nature reserve on Malthouse Lane and walk through to the club. PLEASE DO NOT just leave extra early to secure yourself a space in the car park if you don’t need to be in it. We would like to be able to accommodate our visitors in the car parks as they will not be so familiar with the locality.

Finally as a reminder on a couple of dates coming up – our 1st Men’s team have their Sussex Cup Final on Sat 13th April over at Uckfield RFC. This will be proceeded by our U8s playing a friendly as a curtain raiser. It would be wonderful if we could get some good support over for the match. Details on FB and website.

Our Black Widows ladies team have a match at home on Sunday 7th April at 3pm. Why not come down to the club, enjoy the facilities and provide some welcome support. Again, details on FB and website.

Finally, it is our end of seasons Award Day on Sunday 5th May. A nominee parent/coach from each age group will be asking you all to provide some help on the day – please do take a stint at setting up, helping on the stalls, taking a turn in the kitchen, tidying up afterwards etc. The more people who can help, the less everybody needs to do! More details will follow in the coming weeks.
