Most people think that summer is an opportunity to quench their unlimited thirst for lager and a eat a prodigious amount of tandoori. In reality, summer is your best opportunity to get into the best shape of your life. NO GAMES = LOTS OF CONDITIONING TIME…

Timetable:
MAY & JUNE

– 1 session per week, Tuesdays at 7pm @ the clubhouse

– Consists of touch rugby, 7’s and Fat loss

– Sessions run by Oj

JULY & AUGUST

– 2 Sessions per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays

– Consisting of Anaerobic, interval and skills training

– Sessions run by Oj, Wardy & our new strength and conditioning coach, ex-GB athlete Simon Eyre.

AEROBIC & RESISTANCE WORK IS NOT ON THE ‘MENU’ – YOU MUST DO THIS YOURELF.

If the 1st and 2nd XV want promotion next year, a typical week in may will look something like:

Sat: Long run
Sun: Rest
Mon: Legs
Tue: upper body + training session
Wed: Long run
Thu: Full body
Fri: short run

YOU must build up slowly, if possible run on grass or substitute run for bike ride. Invest in some decent training shoes and read an article on the principles of nutrition/email Ramelda. You don’t need expensive equipment.
